2 Architecture of Ultra Analog VA
2.1 General Signal Flow
The general architecture of Ultra Analog VA is presented in Figure 3. The primary sound sources
of the synthesizer are two oscillators and a noise generator. These sources are mixed before being
sent to two different multi-mode filter modules in series with an amplifier.

This configuration is very flexible because, depending on the type of mixing applied, sources
can be treated separately or in combination. For example, when the filters each receive signal from
distinct sources, the right and left information from each source is preserved until the very end of
the signal path. Sources can therefore be moved and positioned independently in the stereo space
using the panning control on each of the amplifiers. On the other hand, combining the sources at
the mixer level results in rich and complex tonal structures.
2.2 Interface
The graphical user interface has been organized around three different views as shown in Figures 4,
5 and 6.
